Growing Together - Expanding Our Team & Advisory Board

At Green Horizon, we believe that meaningful ecosystem restoration requires more than planting trees, it takes deep expertise, strong partnerships, and a committed team. Over the past year, we’ve grown significantly, building the capacity needed to scale our mission in Tanzania and beyond.

Our advisory board expanded from 5 to 12 members, bringing together global expertise across finance, ecology, agriculture, and sustainability. The board now includes a former HSBC Director who led strategic growth in EU markets, investment leaders in renewable energy and climate funds, and experienced sustainability consultants guiding biodiversity, ESG integration, and compliance with EU sustainability standards.

Meanwhile, our operations team grew from 4 to 12 staff across the Netherlands and Tanzania. With backgrounds spanning agro-business, tropical farming, permaculture, and ecological monitoring, the team now includes ecologists from the University of Amsterdam and Sweco who are helping us design and track large-scale restoration projects.

This growth represents more than just numbers, it’s about building the knowledge, capacity, and leadership needed to restore ecosystems at scale. Together, we are creating a strong foundation for climate resilience, biodiversity recovery, and community livelihoods.
