In 2020, Green Horizon launched its first large-scale reforestation initiative in the Iringa Highlands of Tanzania. Spread across two sites, this project restored 32 hectares of land with more than 30,000 trees, laying the foundation for all our future restoration efforts.
The Iringa project was designed as a learning phase. These lessons now shape our current and future reforestation models.
Beyond the technical side, this project also initiated local partnerships and field operations, creating the foundation for collaboration with communities, conservation experts, and partners on the ground. What began as a pilot has grown into a roadmap for restoring ecosystems at scale in Tanzania.
